Green…green-blue…blue

Today’s outfit was inspired by an interior design project that I was assigned when I was studying interior design. The project was to create a nature inspired interior. In order to achieve an organic design in the room, I used the combination of green, blue-green (cyan), and blue colors. The project was a success, and here is why.

Green, green-blue, and blue colors are adjacent to each other on the color wheel. The combination of these three colors is called the analogous color scheme. Lack of a strong contrast makes this combination relaxing and pleasant to the eye. Green and blue also look organic when paired with each other, because they associate with nature…green forest, green grass and blue ocean, blue sky…

So, back to my outfit…Imagine me wearing just my blue shirt and skinny jeans. It would look boring, even with my blue nails. Green shoes and green bag created a nice smooth contrast with the rest of the outfit. Green –blue accessories helped to bring the outfit together. A touch of gold made the outfit look more interesting and dressy.

  1. Olya you were right! That bag is similar to the one I posted today on Made By Girl. I actually love Rebecca Minkoff and have that exact purse in black. Great find!
